"If you can dream it, you can do it," Walt Disney said. Walt had a passion for drawing that kept him producing all his life. Together with his brother Roy he set up an office in their uncle's garage where they worked hard and persevered until he became a sensation. This man had a dream that nobody believed he could achieve, but he did. He created a place where dreams come true, a land of fantasy that brought joy to millions.People usually had doubts whenever he came up with one of his incredible new ideas but he created one of the greatest tourist attractions in the whole world, Disneyland, on what used to be a 160 acres of an orange orchard and cost 17 million dollars. He was the first in many things. Including the first to produce technicolor animation. We take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful different ways in which Walt brought so much joy to us, how he made so many people’s dreams come true. He never lost sight of what he was heading for, always looking for ways to entertain us. His films were not only for the young, he knew there is a child inside every grownup. He received awards from all over the world, won 31 Academy Awards and was proposed for the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. Still he found time to be a devoted family man spending time with his wife Lilian and his daughters Diane and Sharon. Walt was an optimist that never ceased to be amazed at the wonders of the world.Walt was and is still a hero who carried out his ideals with optimism and imagination. He represents the self-made successful man in America. There will never be a man as great as Walt Disney. The world has suffered a great loss.
